River Birch Health and Wellness approached OCC to develop a new logo and branding package. The logo had to allude to the business’ products and services as well as reference the natural elements in the business name, without being too heavy handed in either. The initial brief included a stipulation to include a fruit or vegetable. Along with the logo, a style guide was needed with spot colors, font suggestions, and visual guidelines.
The final logo diverts from the fruit and vegetable iconography and introduces a fork. After exploring more literal options surrounding “river” and “birch” mostly separately from the food iconography, the final option brings all three elements together:
A branding and style guide was developed to accompany the logo and ensure consistent use across applications. The font featured in the logo, Antonio, was selected for headings in part because its height and strength connect to the birch imagery. The family Bailey Sans was selected for body copy, and its softer edges and pleasant curves contrast nicely with Antonio, flow similarly to the river imagery in the logo’s rings, and maintain legibility at all sizes.
Pantone spot colors were identified and listed, as well as guidelines for logo placement and breakout elements.
